I would like to extend a tremendous THANK YOU
to Barb Chirinos for coordinating all the events relating to the CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit we hosted in June at the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel. Barb, along with the the task force members and board members who participated, did a wonderful job to ensure things ran smoothly.
The MNCREW Board had dinner with the CREW Network Board on Wednesday evening where we exchanged many ideas to improve both the chapter and network. On Thursday and Friday, we hosted a hospitality table and gave away  Women Run the Cities (WRTC) shirts to all attendees. The shirts were a huge success, especially with runners. On Thursday evening, each of the CREW Chapter Delegates met with their board liaison for dinner to share ideas for events, sponsorship opportunities, and membership growth. Friday was a full day of meetings, networking and idea-sharing, followed by several dine- arounds throughout downtown Minneapolis and Uptown. The Summit concluded on Saturday with an excursion to the Mall of America. There were approximately 175 CREW members from around the U.S. who came to expand their leadership skills and network with fellow CREW members.

From speaking with several of you it appears as though 2010 has definitely picked up from the situation we experienced in 2008 and 2009. Although still a challenging year I think it is promising that deals are actually closing and everyone is getting paid vs. receiving an I.O.U. voucher. The banks are lending and 1031 Exchange Buyers are trickling back into the market as well. Let’s continue to stay positive and hopefully this will all be behind us soon. In the Spotlight Awards
The Member Services Committee would like to announce the start of a new monthly recognition program "In The Spotlight." The spirit of this contest is to recognize our members' successes and to announce projects or deals completed. This will NOT take the place of our annual CREWie awards and likely nominations for "In The Spotlight" could also be nominated for the annual CREWIE awards. Anyone can fill out a form to nominate themselves or someone else. The recognition will be an announcement at each monthly luncheon as well as in the MNCREW newsletter.
